Bereavement due to the loss of someone close to us can pose a very difficult time that we all encounter at some point in our life. This commonly is a time of emotional stress with feelings of sorrow and loss; and sometimes guilt, anger and other emotions as one tries to cope with the loss. Everyone experiences grief in their own way and in their own time and various factors such as the circumstances around a death, can affect how you grieve.
Some people, for various reasons, have more difficulty than others coping with the emotional pain of the loss and might even feel overwhelmed at times.
If you are having difficulty coping, grief counselling can give you help and support. It can help you work through the emotional effects of your bereavement, whether it be loneliness, sadness, numbness, feeling stuck, anxiety, depression, guilt, trauma, ambivalence etc. Counselling can provide a safe place for you to talk, to deal with your feelings, and help you to build resilience and in due course adapt to the loss and the changes in your life.
